How frequent are the lessons?

Our music lessons are conducted on a weekly basis. The weekly time slot allocated to each student is when the student is expected to attend every week during the school term.

What is your payment policy?

Payments are to be paid monthly in advance, preferably by EFT electronic bank transfer, however cash will also be accepted. Invoices will be sent to each family via email and payments will be due in the last week before the 1st day of each month. Late payments incur a $20 late fee on the next invoice.

What if my child is sick? Can I re-book my lessons?

If a lesson can't be attended due to illness or any other reason, the fee paid for the missed lesson will be credited on the next invoice, provided that at least 24 hours notice have been given. Same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

How are your online music lessons conducted?

We conduct our music lessons using Zoom app. If you are doing your lessons via online delivery, you will be sent information on how to set up your online lessons. You will need access to a phone, tablet, laptop or computer with a camera.

Do you do lessons during school holidays?

Our music lessons for school aged children run on the school term calendar, and there are no lessons during school holiday periods.

What if my lesson falls on a public holiday?

There is no lessons on public holidays.

What if I miss a lesson?

Same-day cancellations are non-refundable. Makeup lessons will be arranged only if organised at least 1 week before the anticipated missed lesson. If a lesson must be missed, the teacher must be notified by a text or phone call as early as possible before the lesson. Otherwise, the payment for the lesson will be forfeited. Please do not send students to lessons if they are sick, we will make other arrangements if they are not well, given enough notice is provided. Make up lessons or credits will be given if the teacher is unable to teach a lesson. Otherwise, 100% attendance is expected. Same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

How do I cancel lessons?

If you need to discontinue lessons, at least one months’ notice is required if there is a need to discontinue lessons permanently by the student or parent. Teachers can also dismiss a student if they see lessons are no longer fit for the student based on reasons such as lack of attendance, poor behaviour or lack of practice.

What is the required home practice?

Students are required to practice a MINIMUM of 4 x 20 minutes per week. This also means that students must have an adequate instrument to practice on. Keyboards or digital pianos MUST have weighted keys. Electronic drum kits MUST be able to produce sound through an adequate amp. If a teacher believes the student is not applying the correct practice, the teacher will have the right to dismiss students from lessons until the correct practice and instrument requirements are met.

How do I participate in performance events?

Performance opportunities are a privilege, and therefore all students are expected to participate in all performance events if selected. Performance is essential to good musicianship and we encourage all students to develop their performance abilities during their time with us.

Do I need to have my own instrument?

No matter what instrument the student is learning, it is mandatory for the student to have their own instrument to practice on at home. Our teachers are happy to provide recommendations of instruments and which local stores to purchase.

Are all learning materials supplied?

All books and learning materials will be recommended to the student and parents have the option purchase the books themselves or they can purchase through our school. We have all materials that we recommend available for purchase.

How do I enrol for an exam?

Our teachers organise all exam preparations and enrolments on behalf of the student.

Do you offer in-home lessons?

We do not offer in-home lessons. All lessons are conducted in our studios or online only.
